The Geolocation editor can search an address and display a suggested position. The location record also stores central coordinates, separately from its actual permitted zone geometry.
What is this option for?
Use address search to locate the workplace quickly before defining the allowed shapes.
Before you begin
- Open a new or existing location editor.
- Know a real address or the position of the site.
Understanding the controls
- Address
- Optional administrative address.
- Find Address
- Searches geocoding suggestions.
- Address Results
- A result can be selected to position the location.
- Center Coordinates
- Displayed latitude and longitude of the location centre.
- Fit Map
- Fits existing zones in the map view.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open Geolocation and select Add Location or an existing site.
- Enter a meaningful Name.
- Enter the address in the Address field.
- Select Find Address.
- Review returned suggestions; choose the result corresponding to the actual site.
- Check the displayed centre coordinates and map position.
- Draw or inspect the permitted zones; address search alone does not create them.
- Click Save after confirming the location has at least one allowed zone.
What happens next?
The chosen location position helps orient the map for configuring attendance boundaries.
Important notes
- Selecting an address does not automatically grant access everywhere near that address.
- A valid allowed zone is required independently of the address field.
