In this document we will help you learn why four digits and uniqueness matter for a worker code in Attendico, and why an existing code cannot be edited. Each worker has a four-digit code used in the Attendico worker identity workflow. The administrator-facing creation form validates its format before saving.
What is this option for?
Use this guide when selecting a new code or troubleshooting an Employee Code error during creation.
Before you begin
- Create a saved group with at least one shift.
- Know which worker should receive the code and check for duplicates.
Understanding the controls
- Employee Code
- Exactly four digits; 0000 is rejected.
- Suggested Code
- A convenience suggestion that should be reviewed.
- Existing Worker Code
- Shown as read-only in the edit view.
- Uniqueness
- The backend rejects codes that already exist.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open Workers and select Create Worker.
- Enter the worker’s first and last names.
- Review the suggested Employee Code or enter a valid four-digit code.
- Do not use 0000.
- Verify that the code is not already used for another worker.
- Choose the required Group and Current Shift.
- Complete the remaining required fields and Save.
- If the code error appears, correct the code and submit again.
- After creation, reopen the worker and observe that the code is read-only.
What happens next?
The new worker has an assigned four-digit code that is not editable once its saved.
Important notes
- Do not mistake the employee code for an ATS Cloud administrator password.
- Changing an established worker code is not a standard edit operation and may affect linked registration workflows.
