In this document you will learn how to configure weekly shift rotation in Attendico ATS Cloud. Set a weekly interval and reference weekday for automatic group rotation. Weekly rotation advances a worker through the group’s shift sequence according to a chosen reference weekday and an interval measured in weeks.
What is this feature used for?
Use it where teams alternate between their defined shifts on a weekly or multi-week cycle. Each shift still retains its own individual working-day settings.
Before you begin
- A saved group with two or more shifts.
- Manual Planning disabled.
- Shift Rotation Order checked, so the next shift in the cycle is the intended one.
Options and fields explained
- By Weeks
- Sets the automatic rotation mode.
- Rotation Day
- The reference weekday on which the rotation cycle changes.
- Shift Rotation Period
- Number of weeks between changes.
- Rotation Cycle Start
- Optional reference date for calculating future cycles.
Step-by-step procedure
- Open the saved group under Shifts and Groups.
- Enable Rotating Group.
- Select By Weeks.
- Choose Rotation Day, the reference weekday for switching through the sequence.
- Enter the rotation period in weeks: one means each week, while two means every other week.
- Optionally choose Rotation Cycle Start if an explicit reference date is required.
- Arrange the Shift Rotation Order with the arrow buttons.
- Save the group.
- Open Planner and review multiple weeks to confirm the schedule aligns with expectations.
What happens after saving?
Rotation follows the saved group sequence. The worker’s Current Shift is the starting position unless the worker is excluded using Always Keep This Shift.
Important notes and common mistakes
- The group Rotation Day does not override a shift’s own First Day of Week
