Changing a Worker’s Planned Shift for a Date or Future Period

In this document you will learn about changing a worker’s planned shift for a date in Attendico ATS Cloud. Planner allows an administrator to change a worker’s assignment by moving the worker between shift columns. The follow-up dialog determines whether the change applies only once or also affects future assignments.

What is this feature used for?

This is used when a person swaps a shift, starts at a different point in the rotation or is reassigned to a permanent shift.

Before you begin

  • Existing group, shift definitions and worker assignment.
  • Select a date within the worker’s displayed schedule.
  • Confirm the intended duration of the change before saving.

Options and fields explained

Only This Day
Overrides the assignment for the selected date.
From This Date, Continue Rotation
Changes the starting position and continues the group’s automatic rotation.
Keep This Shift From This Date
Excludes the worker from rotation from that date and maintains a fixed shift.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Open Planner and select the worker’s group.
  2. Choose the relevant date range and click Show.
  3. Locate the worker in the row corresponding to the day to change.
  4. Drag the worker to the required destination shift column.
  5. Read the confirmation dialog and choose the intended application mode.
  6. If this is a one-day change, select Only This Day.
  7. If the group rotates and the starting position should change, use the future-rotation option; for a permanent fixed assignment choose the fixed-shift option.
  8. Confirm, reload the plan and inspect multiple future days when a future mode was selected.

What happens after saving?

The result depends on the chosen application mode. A day-only override should not be mistaken for changing all future rotation positions.

Important notes and common mistakes

  • A permanent change has a broader impact than a one-day correction. Inspect future dates carefully.
  • The application uses distinct day, future-rotation and future-fixed change modes.
