In this document we will help you understand shift calculation rules in Attendico. Each shift can include tolerances that ATS Cloud uses when evaluating attendance against expected working time. These settings influence how lateness, early departure and short time intervals are treated.
What is this feature used for?
Use these settings when the company’s attendance policy allows specific margins. They belong to the shift and should not be confused with changing an employee’s actual recorded check-in time.
Before you begin
- A saved group and a shift to configure.
- Agreement on the applicable attendance policy before changing calculation rules.
Options and fields explained
- Allowed Late Minutes
- Minutes of permitted lateness before the shift’s calculated working time is reduced.
- Allowed Early Leave Minutes
- Minutes an employee may leave early without reducing calculated working time.
- Rounding Min Minutes
- Minimum minute increment recognized during calculated working time.
Step-by-step procedure
- Open Shifts and Groups and select the relevant group.
- Edit an existing shift or create one.
- Find Calculation Rules near the end of the shift editor.
- Enter Allowed Late Minutes as a non-negative whole number.
- Enter Allowed Early Leave Minutes as a non-negative whole number.
- Enter Rounding Min Minutes as a non-negative whole number.
- Save the shift.
- Review representative attendance records after the change to confirm the policy produces the intended calculation.
What happens after saving?
The saved values are part of the shift’s time-calculation settings. They do not replace the original underlying attendance timestamps.
