The Business Travel detail view shows distinct states for trips that are still open, processing, missing location information or experiencing route-calculation errors. In this document we will help you understand Business Travel processing, location and route errors in ATS Cloud, including missing locations and failed route calculations.
What is this option for?
Use these states to decide whether to wait for an existing calculation, correct a location or report a provider error.
Before you begin
- Open a recorded trip in Business Travel Details.
- Review the trip status and the visible alerts before making changes.
Understanding the controls
- OPEN
- An uncompleted travel interval; route recalculation is not yet available.
- PENDING / PROCESSING
- A calculation is pending or being processed.
- NEEDS_LOCATION
- One or more required locations lack usable coordinates.
- ERROR
- The calculation has failed; the UI displays an error explanation where available.
- Recalculate
- Disabled in certain states or when locations are missing.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open the Business Travel details for the intended trip.
- Read the status and any warning below the trip table.
- If OPEN, verify whether the underlying travel interval has actually ended before expecting a route calculation.
- If PENDING or PROCESSING, review the processing notice rather than repeatedly editing the record.
- If NEEDS_LOCATION, inspect which start or destination coordinate is missing.
- Provide an exact destination when the additional destination selector is displayed.
- If ERROR, inspect the error description and recorded locations.
- Use Recalculate only when it is enabled and route locations are available.
What happens next?
The appropriate corrective action depends on the stored trip state; not all states require the same fix.
Important notes
- An error may come from route calculation even after the address information is stored.
- The screen may report saved settings with unsuccessful route calculation; distinguish save success from estimate success.
