A shift group controls the shared scheduling arrangement for a set of workers. Editing it can change its description, planning mode and rotation behaviour. In this document you will learn how to edit an existing shift group in Attendico ATS Cloud.
Purpose and explanation
Use this when the group’s metadata or scheduling rules change, rather than creating a new group for the same team.
Before you begin
- At least one saved group.
- Understand whether group members rely on rotation or manual planning.
Options explained
- Group Name and Code
- Identifies the group and its historical snapshot code.
- Manual Planning
- Enables date-by-date planning; disables automatic rotation.
- Rotating Group
- Requires at least two shifts and is unavailable when Manual Planning is on.
- Rotation Order
- Sequence of shifts for eligible rotating workers.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open Shifts and Groups.
- Select the group in Groups Overview.
- Review Group Data and Planning Settings.
- Change its name, code or description when required.
- If changing planning mode, review the consequences for its existing workers.
- For automatic rotation, confirm at least two saved shifts and choose the interval and order.
- Click Save.
- Open Planner to inspect the resulting schedule.
Expected result
The group settings are saved and used when schedules are generated.
Important notes
- A group is distinct from the shifts stored inside it.
