How to Configure the Order of Rotating Shifts

Shift Rotation Order determines which saved shift comes next in an automatically rotating group. It is separate from choosing how frequently the rotation moves. In this document you will learn how to configure the order of rotating shifts in Attendico ATS Cloud.

Purpose and explanation

Use this when a group has several shifts and the required sequence differs from the order in which they were created.

Before you begin

  • A saved group with at least two shifts.
  • Manual Planning disabled and automatic rotation enabled.

Options explained

Shift Rotation Order
The ordered list of shift IDs.
Up / Down Arrows
Moves a shift earlier or later in the rotation.
Current Shift
Worker-specific starting position in the sequence.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Shifts and Groups and select the saved rotating group.
  2. Find Shift Rotation Order under the enabled Rotating Group controls.
  3. Review each shift’s name, code and working times.
  4. Use the arrow controls to reorder the entries.
  5. Ensure the beginning and end of the cycle match the desired sequence.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Open Planner and review several successive rotations.
  8. If one worker starts at a different point, check Current Shift in that worker’s profile.

Expected result

The group rotation uses the newly saved shift order.

Important notes

  • Changing order may affect future assignments of multiple workers.
