How to Understand the Three Planner Shift-Change Modes

In this document you will learn how to understand the three Planner shift-change modes in Attendico and choose the scope for a schedule change. When a worker is moved to another shift in Planner, the confirmation dialog offers different scopes. These choices determine whether the change affects one day or future scheduling.

What is this option for?

Use the correct scope to avoid accidentally turning a temporary swap into a permanent worker assignment.

Before you begin

  • Workers and shifts already exist.
  • Planner is showing the correct group and date.

Understanding the controls

Only This Day
Applies an override to the chosen date only.
From This Date, Continue Rotation
Uses the new shift as the starting position for future rotation.
Keep This Shift From This Date
Keeps the selected shift fixed from that date forward.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Planner and select the group and period.
  2. Find the employee on the intended date.
  3. Drag the employee to the desired shift column.
  4. Read the Apply Change dialog before confirming.
  5. Select Only This Day for a temporary one-day swap.
  6. Select From This Date, Continue Rotation if the worker should shift into a different starting position while still rotating.
  7. Select Keep This Shift From This Date when the worker should remain on the selected shift.
  8. Confirm the action and inspect the selected date.
  9. Review subsequent dates if you selected either future scope.

Important notes

  • A future option can change subsequent planned dates, not just the row being dragged.
  • Use the one-day override reset procedure to remove a single manual assignment when supported.
