What a Location and Allowed Zone Mean

In this document learn what a location and allowed zone mean for geolocation-based attendance and worker access in Attendico. Geolocation in ATS Cloud defines permitted locations and map areas for supported location-verified attendance. A location can have several shapes and can be limited to selected workers.

What is this feature for?

The purpose is to verify a worker’s presence inside an approved zone when making an attendance event, not continuous worker tracking.

Prerequisites

  • Geolocation feature enabled in the license.
  • Know the real worksite and its geographical boundary.
  • Create employees first if you plan to restrict access by worker.

Options and fields explained

Name and Address
Identify and position the site.
Active
Enables the location.
Allow All Employees
Allows all eligible workers; otherwise select employees.
Rectangle / Circle / Polygon / Corridor
Allowed geometry types on the map.
GPS accuracy
A separate verification requirement from zone boundaries.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Geolocation and choose Add Location.
  2. Enter a name and optionally an address.
  3. Use the address search to position the map.
  4. Decide whether the location should be Active.
  5. Use Allow All Employees or select the permitted workers.
  6. Choose a map drawing tool and create at least one permitted area.
  7. Review the resulting geometry.
  8. Click Save and inspect the saved location.

Expected result

The location can be used by supported location-based attendance flows with its saved geometry and access rules.

Important notes

  • A location cannot be saved without any zone.
